Hi! I’m Amy, aka The Petite Filet.
I started this blog in July 2008. Newly married and living 600 miles away from all my friends and family, I decided to chronicle my love for cooking as a way to share my life with the people I loved and couldn’t be with. Over the years, I’ve tried to expand my blog into something that will interest a broader audience, but if you’ve been here long, you probably already know that Nonnie was my first and most loyal reader.
As a kid, I was a very picky eater. I’ve gotten better as I’ve grown up, and though I’m still choosy about what I eat, I am always willing to give new foods a try. Since I started cooking for myself and my husband Andrew, I’ve learned to truly love food. It’s my fervent hope that as I continue to learn and grow in the kitchen, you will continue to read about my great successes and my terrible mishaps! When I started blogging, I was determined to share my disasters as well as my delicacies, and I’ll continue to do that, if only to remind myself how much more fun cooking is when you’re willing to admit things will never be perfect.
